I didn’t include this in the About Me section of Southern Belle Jubilee because I believe this topic deserves its own space. You read that right: I paused my career to stay home with my children and shifted my focus to serve my family full-time within our home—that’s where I’m needed most right now.

What did I do before becoming a full-time stay-at-home mother and wife? To clarify, I AM still a behavior analyst. I keep all aspects of my previous career active because “life is always lifing,” and with my anxiety, I couldn’t just stay home without feeling confident that I could jump back in at a moment’s notice if needed. I worked hard to earn those letters behind my name, and I’m not letting go of that achievement.

I apply my training as a behavior analyst regularly as a mother, whether it’s during active parenting or homeschooling. Are my children always well behaved? Of course not! But I have some tools in my box that I can use to stop certain problems before they start.

When will I transition back to my other career? My plan is to do so once my family no longer needs me in our home, likely when my children are out of the house or in school full-time. But, you know what they say about God and our plans. 😉
